What a missed name really costs
A screening check is not a formality. The listed name you clear is the sanctions breach, the fine, or the headline you did not see coming.
A common name is not a clear name
The same name can belong to a sanctioned person and a thousand ordinary customers. A plain keyword check either floods you with false positives or misses the real entry behind an alias.
Lists change after you clear a name
A name that was clean today can appear on a sanctions or PEP list next week. Screening once at onboarding leaves a gap that lasts the whole relationship.
Manual adjudication cannot keep pace
Every name deserves the same rigour, but a person checking lists by hand cannot screen thousands of them and still catch the alias or transliteration. Something always gets missed.

How is the match score calculated?
Zoven compares the submitted name against every list entry, weighing name similarity, aliases, date of birth, nationality, and any secondary identifiers into a single score from 0 to 100. A strong alignment across several fields scores high; a common name that only loosely resembles an entry scores low. The result maps to Weak, Possible, Strong, or Confirmed, each with its own recommendation.
